  • The School of Business was glad to present awards to both faculty members and students for their academic achievements on 16 February 2023 (Thursday). Over 100 faculty members and students joyfully attended the ceremony on campus.   Staff Achievement During the ceremony, the Research Achievement Award and Teaching Excellence Award were presented to staff awardees.     On 15 February 2023, SBUS hosted a signing ceremony for launching the Executive Certificate in Contemporary Financial Planning Programme, which is a brand-new executive training programme in collaboration with IARFC HK/Macau Chapter for the financial planning professionals. This programme aims at equipping the participants – who are members of IARFC – with professional knowledge in FinTech and Trust, which are two important areas for competent and effective wealth management nowadays.     The School of Business hosted an international food and culture sharing event “Celebrating International Diversity: Festival, Food & Fun” on February 14, 2023. International and exchange students from all over the world, including Finland, France, Spain, China, and the Philippines, came together to share their yummy foods and unique cultures. Dean BARNES kicked off the event, chatting with every student and sharing his own experiences living and working in both the UK and HK.     The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK) introduced the concept of “Junzi” character in Chinese Confucianism in 2011 whereby an annual Junzi Corporation Survey (the Survey) is conducted to measure the overall level of business ethics in Hong Kong. The Junzi Corporation Award is conferred to felicitate Junzi corporations that meet high ethical standards with the five Junzi virtues of “Ren (benevolence)”, “Yi (righteousness)”, “Li (propriety)”, “Zhi (wisdom)”, “Xin (trustworthiness)”.     Organised by the Women in Society Association, the Women in Leadership Seminar with the topic of “Women in Leadership within the World of Consumer Product Licensing” was successfully held on 25 November 2021. It was an honour to have Ms. Jorene Liu and Ms. Tina Chow as our guest speakers. They shared their inspiring insight on consumer product licensing and the phenomenal women leadership in the industry.     The School of Business was pleased to welcome more than 100 new undergraduate students face-to-face on 1 September 2021. Dean Bradley R. Barnes kicked off the Orientation, with Heads of Departments introducing their programmes. As a highlight of the orientation, Professor Jeanne Fu, Head of the Department of Management, gave a speech about the growth mindset in relation to shyness to inspire new students to scale new heights in the coming years at HSUHK. Barnes welcomes and congratulates faculty members and students) During the ceremony, the Half-tuition Fee Scholarship and the FTLife Elite Scholarship in Entrepreneurial Management were also given to recognise the MSC-EM students’ efforts.   In view of the Covid-19 pandemic, the award presentation ceremony was suspended for one year.
