The CFA Institute Research Challenge is an annual global competition that provides university students with hands-on mentoring and intensive training in financial analysis and professional ethics. Each university-sponsored team is composed of five official members and is required to prepare an equity research report on the same subject company.
There is a total of eleven tertiary institutions participated in the Hong Kong local level competition which is organized by the Hong Kong Society of Financial Analysts:

- Chu Hai College of Higher Education
- City University of Hong Kong
- Hang Seng University of Hong Kong
- Hong Kong Baptist University
- Lingnan University
- Shue Yan University
- The Hong Kong Polytechnic University
- The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology
- The Open University of Hong Kong
- The University of Hong Kong
This year, the subject company is the Link REIT (0823.HK) and the HSUHK team comprises of five students from the department of EAF and MGT:
- NG Shun On (BBA-BAF) (Team Leader)
- CHAN Sin Yi (BBA-BAF)
- CHENG Hoi Sang (BBA-BAF)
- CHENG Tsz Ying (BBA- FA)
- TSE Kwan Tsz (BBA-MGT)
In the first round of the competition, teams are judged by the quality of their equity research reports and top five teams will be advanced to the final round to present their analysis and valuation to a panel of investment professionals.
The HSUHK team was selected for the final round of the competition, along with Hong Kong Baptist University, Shue Yan University, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and the University of Hong Kong. In the final round, HSUHK was just pipped the post by Hong Kong University of Science and Technology as the first runner-up with Hong Kong Baptist University being the second runner-up.
