Congratulation to Students from MGT Department Winning the 1st Runner-Up and Honourable Mentions (Relevance & Impact) of the HSUHK Social Innovation Competition 2021

CHUI Pui Yan (BBA-MGT, Year 3) and CHAN Yan Tung (BBA-HRM, Year 3) teamed up as “Puzzle House”, winning the 1st Runner-Up prize and Honourable Mentions (Relevance and Impact) from the HSUHK Social Innovation Competition 2021. The team were awarded on the Awards Presentation Ceremony on 25 February 2021.

The Competition, jointly organised by the Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL), the Institute of Youth Sustainability and Leadership (IYSL), and the Wu Jieh Yee Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (WUCIE). It aims to promote to HSUHK students a culture of innovation and to raise their awareness of the critical social issues locally or globally by inviting participants to address at least one of the three selected Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) specified by the United Nations.

The team picked the social issue of “Sustainable Cities and Communities” and won the prizes with their project “Combining the Ignored People and Discarded Vacant Land Be Ideal Society” which concerns the development of brownfield sites as well as connecting the young people and provides an innovative solution to the living issue of the young people. The winning teams will be referred to WUCIE’s upcoming competition and other inter-university social innovation competitions/ programmes, good luck to Puzzle House!
