Biography

Professor Liandong Zhang is the Lee Kong Chian Professor of Accounting and Deputy Dean of the School of Accountancy at Singapore Management University. His research interests include corporate financial reporting and disclosure, corporate governance, and taxation. He has published extensively in leading accounting and finance journals, including Contemporary Accounting Research, Journal of Accounting and Economics, Journal of Accounting Research, The Accounting Review, and Journal of Financial Economics. Professor Zhang currently serves as the Associate Editor of the Asia-Pacific Journal of Accounting and Economics and the Editor of Corporate Governance: An International Review. He received his bachelor’s degree from Tsinghua University and his PhD in Accounting from Nanyang Technological University. Before joining SMU, he held academic positions at the City University of Hong Kong and Concordia University in Canada.
