    The Department of Accountancy organised a Research Training Workshop with the theme of “Contemporary Issues in Capital Markets” on 9 May 2023. It was our honour to invite Professor In-Mu Haw, Visiting Chair Professor of the Department, as the trainer. Professor Haw presented his research on “Firm-Initiated Equity Trading Halts and Investor Reactions: The Case of M&As in China” in the first session, and shared his most recent research project “The Role of Direct Equity Ownership in Supply Chains” with the participants in the second session.     The Guest Lecture on “Family Business and Family Office in Hong Kong – Investment and Governance-related Issues” was held on 27 April 2023, aimed to provide students with insights into the complexities of family business and family office structures in Hong Kong.     The Personal Tutor-tutee Networking cum Earring DIY Workshop was successfully held on 2 March 2023 with an aim to provide students with a networking opportunity with their personal tutors. The event started with a networking session where students had the opportunity to meet with their personal tutors and discuss their academic and personal development. Participants found it to be a valuable opportunity to connect and seek advice from their tutors and senior classmates.     The Department of Accountancy recently hosted a Tutor-tutee Networking on February 9, 2023. The event was a resounding success, with a large number of students who were eager to connect with their tutors and learn from outstanding student representatives from BBA-CGC and BBA-PA programmes. The student representatives shared their experiences of applying for scholarships, postgraduate programmes, and graduate jobs in reputable companies.     The Graduation Ceremony 2022 for BBA-ACC, BBA-CG and BBA-CGC programmes was successfully held on 8 Dec 2022. To celebrate this special moment with our graduates, the Department of Accountancy hosted a “Graduation Celebration and Photo Booth” on that day after the official graduation ceremony. Graduates were invited to come to Wei Lun Square for taking group photos. What a remarkable moment that graduates of all these three programmes gathered together and shared the joy with their teachers before embarking on to the new stage of their life journey!     The 2022 HSUHK Information Day was held on 19 November 2022. The Department of Accountancy (the Department) set up an exhibition booth to greet visitors and introduce its BBA in Corporate Governance and Compliance (BBA-CGC) and BBA in Professional Accountancy (BBA-PA) programmes. Besides, an information session was arranged for each programme. Programme Director/ Associate Programme Director of the respective programmes introduced their programmes in detail, including the professional recognitions, programme structure and sharing from graduates.     The first guest lecture cum personal tutor-tutee networking of this academic year was successfully held on 10 November 2022. Students were grouped and chatted with their personal tutors during the networking session. It was also a great opportunity for them to learn from their peers and be familiar with other senior/junior schoolmates.     The Professional Bodies Briefing Session 2022 – Series 1 was successfully held on 22 September 2022 with an aim to provide students with the latest information on the professional bodies and their respective qualifications. In this series, THREE professional bodies from accounting fields were invited to introduce their institutes and professional qualification requirements to students.
