    CPA Australia Distinction Award is an annual scholarship program awarded to remarkable university graduates who have demonstrated academic excellence and a strong aspiration to become a CPA!     Considering that there is an increasing number of non-local freshmen this year, the Department invited teachers and senior students to share some living tips in Hong Kong such as transportation, cultural and recreational aspects which help them feel comfortable to live and study in Hong Kong.     ACY seminar of the SBUS School Gala was successfully held on 21 June 2023. Ms. Willa Chan, Founding Principal of Willa Legal was invited to share her insights on the topic on “Is Hong Kong a good place to set up a private fund?”. In this professional seminar, the speaker introduced private investment fund and the related laws and regulations in Hong Kong.     Congratulations to our HSUHK team on winning the 2nd runner-up and the best team spirit award at the TIHK Tax Debate Competition 2023, which was hosted by the Taxation Institute of Hong Kong and held on 3 and 4 June 2023.     The Department of Accountancy organised a Research Training Workshop with the theme of “Contemporary Issues in Capital Markets” on 9 May 2023. It was our honour to invite Professor In-Mu Haw, Visiting Chair Professor of the Department, as the trainer.     The Guest Lecture on “Family Business and Family Office in Hong Kong – Investment and Governance-related Issues” was held on 27 April 2023, aimed to provide students with insights into the complexities of family business and family office structures in Hong Kong.     The Personal Tutor-tutee Networking cum Earring DIY Workshop was successfully held on 2 March 2023 with an aim to provide students with a networking opportunity with their personal tutors. The event started with a networking session where students had the opportunity to meet with their personal tutors and discuss their academic and personal development. Participants found it to be a valuable opportunity to connect and seek advice from their tutors and senior classmates. The event was a resounding success, with a large number of students who were eager to connect with their tutors and learn from outstanding student representatives from BBA-CGC and BBA-PA programmes.
