Our honorable guest, Mr. Andy Chan, Introduced various career opportunities offered by the CPA firms (Big-4, middle-tier and local), business and commercial sectors and government sectors, as well as their distinctive features. He advised students to make career choices which suit their own personality. Besides, Mr. Andy Chan also shared some tips and suggestions on preparing CV and Job interview, and stayed behind after the guest lecture to provide individual advice to students.     Guest lecture on “Auditing in Financial Services” cum Personal Tutor-tutee Networking #4 has been successfully held on 1 March 2018. Before the guest lecture, Personal Tutor-tutee Networking was scheduled for students to seek advice from personal tutors on their academic and career development. Personal tutors encouraged students to proactively participate in inter-school competitions, which could help equipping themselves with essential knowledge, skills and experience for future career.     Professional Bodies Briefing Session Series 2 cum the 3 rd Personal Tutor-tutee Networking was successfully held on 1 February 2018 with an aim to updating students with different professional qualifications and stimulating interaction among students, teachers and professional bodies. Representatives from the Hong Kong Institute of Chartered Secretaries (HKICS) and the Taxation Institute of Hong Kong (TIHK) were invited to introduce their institutes, qualifications, and examination structures in the hope that students could widen their understanding of these institutes and get better planning of their career paths.     The HSMC Information Day was held on 18 November 2017. BBA in Corporate Governance Programme had set up a booth with more than 120 students and parents visited. Visitors were introduced by our teachers and student helpers the most up-to-date information of the programme. In addition,two sessions of information seminars were held in order to provide comprehensive information of our programme such as programme structure and career prospect.     Guest lecture on “Market Misconduct” cum Tutor-tutee Networking was held on 9 November 2017. Dr. Davy Lee, Group Corporate Secretary of Lippo Group, was invited to share his view on the importance of good corporate governance to a company and discuss with students the market misconduct cases in contemporary economy. Tutor-tutee Networking was then held after the guest lecture. Our students have made a remarkable performance at the Corporate Governance Paper Writing & Presentation Competition 2017 held by the Hong Kong Institute of Chartered Secretaries (HKICS) on 21 October 2017.  Details are as follows: A team of two BBA (with Accounting Concentration) Year 4 students, namely Cheung Tsz Ying and Kan Kwan Yi, has won the second runner-up in Paper Presentation Competition.     Guest Lecture on Forensic Accounting cum Tutor-tutee Networking was held on 28 September 2017. The event started with a Tutor-tutee Networking session where students discussed their academic and career development with their personal tutors. Tutors offered practical advices to students’ inquiries and collected useful feedback from students regarding college, school and department’s service and supports to them. Representatives from THREE accounting professional bodies, namely Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), CPA Australia, and Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA), were invited to deliver information on their institutions/associations and professional qualification requirements.
