    The Student Orientation Day 2019 was successfully held on 20th August 2019. There were great number of new students joining this year. Students sat together in groups and showed their yearn and hope for their life in university. Professor Irene Chow, our Department Head, delivered a warm welcoming speech to the freshmen. She also gave the students her encouragement in their new page in life, hoped they could learn happily and adapted the school life easily.  All teaching staff also gave short speeches to express their own feelings and expectations towards the new academic year.     The first Corporate Governance and Youth Personal Finance Workshop, organised by the Department of Accountancy of HSUHK and supported by Society of Registered Financial Planners (HKRFP), was successfully held on 4 July 2019. Over 80 secondary school teachers and students, as well as academic staff of HSUHK, participated in the event. President Simon S M Ho delivered welcoming remarks.     2 July 2019 Department of Economics and Finance launched the first Smart U-life Personal Finance Planning Competition from March to May 2019. The objective of this competition is to encourage high school students to learn and plan ahead well before starting their U-life and be the smart tertiary students in personal finance matters.     Department of Accountancy of HSUHK was grateful to receive Multiable Company’s software donation in-kind, which worth more than HK$540,000, for supporting teaching and learning activities in the module “ACY4009 Enterprise Resource Planning Systems for Accounting”. The donation includes user licenses and corresponding services for one year for Multiable M18 Cloud-based ERP System, which consists of finance module, logistics module, product assembly module, collaboration module as well as business intelligence system.
